‘Touchpoints’ refers to the spark of familiarity generated when we read a story that rings true of our own experience. It covers feelings about the weather, holidays, childhood memories, captivity, setbacks, farewells, grief and devastation. Some carry the warmth of pleasant memories, others the mental pain of harshness and finality in life. Each story has its own experiences and emotions that confirm our empathy with life’s serious and light hearted sides.

“The fifth time through she played the final chords and finished. She had spoken to this great house which she would never leave or be allowed to leave. The silence spoke volumes as if the walls themselves paid tribute. Slowly she rose from the stool and walked to the door. Soon she must light the lamps and greet the returning children, but first she wiped her face and sat transfixed on the couch, observing the final seconds of this special time, this secret she shared with her silent fortress.”

Worth reading and well-written

“I’ve finished reading “Touchpoints”. Really enjoyed it.  I loved the theme of loss, lives, opportunities, moments in time. So much sensitivity and depth of feeling. Some of my favourites: ‘The Book Cover’, Searching’, ‘Trip of a Lifetime’ and ‘A Real Story’. But having said that, all your stories are worth reading and well-written.”
